Card Yard is an annual dynamic activity hub at the BIG on Bloor street festival in Bloordale. On July 19-20 2014 Senayah Design and PULP ran Card Yard 2014, where we curated interactive and community-led programming in a pop-up public realm designed and constructed of repurposed materials. The space was humming all weekend long with a huge number of participants from Bloordale and beyond - and judging from comments that we received, Torontonians would like to see more of this at other festivals around the city!

Activities this year included poetry readings, Zumba classes, paper sculpture, musical performances, face painting, photography, table hockey, magic, improv, speed mentoring (think speed dating) and more. Card Yard 2014 is a great example of how we can use our city's public space to its maximum potential! Be sure to get in touch via the contact page if you'd like to host an activity hub at a festival in your community.
